We help students discover their gifts and equip them to live life with hope, humility and, purpose.

Welcome to MECS

Let’s get this party started!

Yep, not what you expect to hear from a Principal on the welcome page, but essentially, I guess I’ve captured your attention. Let me be clear from the start, MECS is a fabulous place to belong to and the analogy of a party is not a bad one to go with.

Firstly, MECS is a school that is so excited about our Christian distinctiveness that we want to celebrate it. We want to celebrate learning under the umbrella of Christ’s Lordship and we want to celebrate your child in their achievements and growth. Not only the academic achievements but those little things that count.

We have our own language around the things that count, which we refer to as our “MECS Threads”. You’ll read a bit about them through the pages of this website. We celebrate our students being;

Purposeful Learners, Community Builders, Welcoming Advocates, Justice Seekers, Creation Keepers, Truth Discerners & Awe Dwellers

Secondly, parties are usually quite a diverse gathering and attract people with all different personalities and interests. There are those that love to dance and those that don’t, there are those that participate in a party game and those that hide, there are those that can eat anything and those that have allergies…you get where I am going. A party gathers community together to share, celebrate, enjoy and experience what it means to belong. MECS is a wonderful community, full of diversity but focused on the task of educating your child from a Christian perspective, the Christian story. A perspective that challenges the other prevailing stories of our culture.

Why not come and check us out?

Our approach to learning

Our approach to learning is much more than the passing on of knowledge – it is about helping our students become life-long learners. By creating opportunities for students to explore who they are and how they learn best in an innovative and challenging environment, we aim to develop their understanding of the way they learn and view the world around them. We have developed a distinctive model of teaching and learning that is imbedded at every year level.

We invite you to come find out for yourself how your family could thrive and belong at MECS.

We offer regular small group and private tours giving you an opportunity to explore the grounds, meet staff and ask all the nitty gritty questions.

Teachers dealt effectively and promptly with any issues, were responsive and easily accessible. I wanted my boys to have confidence and a stable academic grounding in Primary School and this was achieved. The culture in the Primary School is positive and a strong, authentic and caring team was evident throughout.”

We are so grateful to be part of this school community. The Christ-centred education reinforces the values we uphold as a family, the nurturing environment gives our children confidence to grow in their individual gifts, and the staff genuinely care for the whole student. It’s a place where our children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to flourish.

“I am forever thankful for the fact that my children both attend MECS! Since they started in Prep, I have found that they have thrived in this school environment. I know that they are nurtured, cared for and encouraged, I know that I as a parent am treated with respect, inclusion and care.
