Learning Assistant

We have part-time positions available for Learning Assistants (Teacher’s Aide), commencing 2022. The positions vary across the school for Primary, Secondary and Ranges TEC.

Applicants should be suitably qualified, have previous experience in a similar Education Support role and be highly motivated. Applicants must have a Working with Children Card and current Police Record Check. Compliance with the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Directions is a legal and required condition of employment.

Learning Assistants have a broad role. They undertake a variety of duties which mostly comprise assisting teachers and supporting students in the classroom and other educational activities, and providing attendant care and assistance to students, as required. The position may also include some administrative or clerical tasks, and assistance with resources in a variety of school settings, such as the classroom, library and laboratories.

Science Laboratory Technician

We have a part-time position available for a Science Laboratory Technician, commencing 2022. This position will be 2 days a week at an FTE of 0.40.

Electrotechnology Teacher

Certificate IV in Education Support - Student Placement

MECS provides a limited number of student placement positions for those completing their Certificate IV in Education Support. Placements can be in the Primary or Secondary school. People completing their Education Support student placement at MECS will be provided with support to complete assignments set by their course provider. In addition to this, placement students will be allocated to a variety of educational settings within the school at the direction of the Education Support Coordinators.

Due to the high demand for placement positions, applicants for student placement positions are required submit a written application as per below. Applicants will then be invited to a short interview to ensure their suitably for the MECS workplace.
